Thesis: tools for animators
Help animators bring characters to life faster, without losing what makes them hand-made.
- Format

- Berlin or remote
The context
We are an independent innovation lab in Berlin. We work at the intersection of art and technology: characters, stories, sound and objects for children, made by artists and engineers together.
Our characters are designed once, with a small set of poses and faces, and animated to voices and sounds. We want better tools for that work: movement, expressions and lip sync that artists stay in control of.
Who it’s for
- Bachelor's and master's students in animation, media, design or computer science
- Animators who like systems, and technologists who love drawing
What we’d make together
- A tool or workflow for one part of character animation: posing, expressions, lip sync or timing
- Tests with our characters, and feedback from animators
- A short film or demo that shows the result
What you get
- Our characters, stories and voices to work with
- Co-supervision alongside your university supervisor
- Your name on the work; a portfolio piece that ships
How it works
- Any timeRegister interest; we agree the scope with you and your supervisor
- Month 1Research and first prototype
- Months 2–4Build, test with animators, improve
